HOW TO LEASE YOUR PROPERTY TO A BILLBOARD COMPANY

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU CALL THE BILLBOARD COMPANY
1) VISIBILITY: Do you have a location with good visibility? A good location has a 5 second read or more from the highway.
3-4 seconds can be used if it is in slow traffic but not recommended for a freeway.
2) TRAFFIC COUNT: Does your property have a good traffic count? That is going to important in evaluating what your
future billboard location is worth.
3) PROPERTY ZONING: Know what your property is zoned you are going to need that information along with it's physical
address and it legal description.
4) BILLBOARD LAWS AND REGULATIONS: Know what your local and state laws are governing billboards for your
location. Call the local building and planning office they can help. Ask for the outdoor advertising planning director.
5) BILLBOARD SEPARATION: Each city, county and state has there own laws governing the distance between each
off site billboard location. Off site billboards are billboard that advertises business in a location other than where the
existing billboard location you have is.
